Before introducing the ‘CHA JAMSIL Women’s Health Institute,’ let us first explore the history of the CHA Women’s Medical Research Institute.
CHA Hospital, originally named “Cha Obstetrics and Gynecology,” was established in Cho-dong, Jung-gu in 1960, and later relocated to its current location, CHA Gangnam Hospital, in 1984.
After the move to Gangnam, the medical team dedicated themselves to research and became the first private hospital in South Korea to successfully deliver a baby conceived through in vitro fertilization (IVF) in 1986.
Subsequently, CHA achieved significant milestones, including the first pregnancy in Asia (1987) for a woman without eggs and the world’s first pregnancy and childbirth through in vitro maturation (IVM) using immature egg culture in 1989, demonstrating the institute’s remarkable accomplishments.
Through sharing the latest infertility research results at conferences and continuous personnel exchanges with infertility centers, as well as enhancing advanced equipment and facilities, the pregnancy rate at the CFC in Australia has significantly improved. Consequently, the number of CFC centers has increased to 26 (2024), making it one of the top three infertility centers in Australia.
On April 15, 2024, the 6th Women’s Health Research Institute in South Korea opened in Jamsil.
